Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highlight motivated General Practitioner to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team for six sessions under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Team (ARRS). We are seeking someone newly qualified within the last 2 years.
As a single practice PCN we can fully integrate ARRS roles with the wider practice team. You will be employed directly with the practice, we operate a continuity of care model, and you will have a registered list of patients, you will have a main site and rotate to provide cover for urgent care as Duty GP.
We are a large partnership which enables a great deal of stability at a time of uncertainty within NHS General Practice. We are a large training practice and support training at all levels, we are a very supportive practice and will support you at work by providing GP Partner as a mentor.
Sessions Required: Six sessions covering Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Main duties of the job As quality of life is important, we structure our workload and support each other to manage day to day demand. We have a Duty Day system led by our Allied Healthcare Professionals (Urgent Care Team) with Duty GP support but recognise the need for continuity. We operate own GP lists which are stratified to enable GPs to focus on continuity while our Urgent Care team deal with workload where acute care is favoured.
The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care as set by the regulatory and standard setting organisations, including but not limited to the points below. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post holder will undertake a variety of duties.

Job responsibilities Theduties of the post holder are to provide a full range of general medicalservices as contained within the National Health Services (Primary Care) Act1997 and which will include: Face to Face appointments, telephone consultations and queries,triaging, video consultations, prescribing (including checking and authorisingrepeat prescriptions and dealing with queries), patient test results, QOFreviews, patient medical reports onbehalf of the Practice as well as referral letters and other paperwork andcorrespondence in a timely manner.
As a Salaried GP for Beacon, you would beexpected to support the partners of Beacon Medical Group in providing allPrimary Medical Services in line with contractual and regulatory frameworks.There is also an expectation that you will support the Board and Beacon MedicalGroups vision encompassing the NHS Strategy for Primary Care anddiversification of services outside the core business.

Asa member of our clinical team, it is expected that you maintain and keep goodstandards of clinical records on SystmOne and abide by Group policy, clinical templates,and protocols at all times. We can provide full training if you feel that youwould like more support and will ensure that you are fully up to speed on ourprocesses for record keeping.
You will also be expected to utilise anddevelop any skills for the improvement of services to patients, such as minoroperations, child health surveillance, family planning training etc and thegroup encourages active engagement in developing and delivering new services.This will be subject to presentation of the appropriatecertificatesand update of relevant courses, which the Group will fully support ifappropriate and in line with the groups aims.
Clinical Duties The practiceoperates a total triage system for all Routine and Urgent GP appointments. GPappointment requests are made by phone and online consultation. GPs aresupported by a team of allied health professions to provide same day urgentcare and some routine care such as care provided by MSK First ContactPhysiotherapists. A Duty GP undertakesthe role of lead clinician each day and you will be expected to undertake a prorate share of duty clinics, covering the role of duty GP during practicecontracted operating hours.
Inaccordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will makethemselves available to undertake a variety of duties including; remoteconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, videoconsultations, face to face appointments,prescribing (including checking and authorising repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries), patient test results, patient medical reports on behalfof the Practice as well as referral letters and other paperwork andcorrespondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomousdecisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred orreferred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs ofpatients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease riskfactors and early signs of illness
Clinical duties will include consulting people with acuteconditions, on-going chronic conditions which will also include reviews basedon the QOF and you will be expected to add the relevant coding to any patientfile and report any errors. The Group will provide any QOF training on request.
Your clinical duties may also include deliveryof enhanced services such as minor ops, implant fitting or clinical research.These clinics will be arranged with the Operational Managers and agreed inadvance. Such clinics are available tothe full practice population and are not limited to one GPs registeredpatients.
Recordclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards using ITsystems. Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptionsincluding EPS.
Prescribein accordance with locally agreed or nationally agreed prescribing formulary.Work in accordance with all relevant clinical guidelines, pathways, andprotocols, including agreed standard data entry processes.
Youwill undertake home visits to support housebound patients and those who it isdetermine need a home visit; home visits are allocated on a fair share basisand where possible you will be allocated patients on your registered list,however allocation is not limited to one GPs registered patients.
Youwill be providing telephone and face to face consultations in the morning andin the afternoon, plus you will take your share of extra consultations wheredemand is excessive in line with practice operational procedures.
You are expected to follow upresults, x-rays, correspondence related to your allocated clinical list ofpatients and also those that you have generated yourself (investigations andqueries related to your consultations), in line with good practice asrecommended by GMC.
Thepost holder may have tasks or responsibilities delegated to them, appropriateto their level of competence. They may also be expected to delegate tasks orresponsibilities to other staff, as appropriate.
Undertakea rotation of duty cover, online consultation sifting cover, and extendedaccess cover.
QOF clinics are allocated periodically throughout the yearand are booked face to face clinics. Amendments to normal programmed activitiesare made based on the number of QOF appointments required.
Student supervising. Amendments are made to normal activities where supervision of students is required.
The Group operates an own patient list as westrongly believe this enhances patient care. Your patient list will beallocated to you. As a guide thecurrent list size is based on 220 per session.
The Group may seek to increase or reduce thatnumber according to current patient numbers, however we will always use theprinciples of equality of list sizes and pro rata list size according to thatof a current full-time practitioner.
TheBoard and Partners believe that the job plan allows sufficient time in the jobplan to complete all administrative duties related to your clinical work,recognising the fact that all practitioners work at different rates.
Referrals should be completed on a daily basis in line withGroup policy.
