Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedGeneral Practitioner (GP)to join our multidisciplinary healthcare teamwithin a secure environment. The role involves delivering high-quality primarycare services to a diverse patient population.

As a GP in a secure setting, youll play avital role in improving health outcomes for individuals who may have complexhealth and social care needs. Your work will help reduce health inequalitiesand ensure continuity of care in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Main duties of the job

Providefull GP services including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis,treatment, and referrals.

Managechronic diseases, acute presentations, and mental health conditions.

Contributeto the management of substance misuse and support detox pathways.

Workcollaboratively with nursing staff, mental health professionals, pharmacists,and external healthcare providers.

Participatein clinical audits, risk assessments, and safeguarding processes.

Maintaincomprehensive clinical records using the prisons electronic health recordsystem.

Takepart in clinical governance activities and support continuous qualityimprovement.

Campsfield House IRC

Campsfield House IRC is a securefacility currently designed to accommodate up to 160 male residents in bothsingle and dual occupancy rooms. The centre houses a combination of time-servedforeign national offenders and immigration offenders while the Home Officearranges their removal from the UK.

Residents are not permitted to leavethe centre or access the local area. Consequently, recreational, educational, healthcare, living, and faith-related facilities are provided entirely onsite.

The healthcare department provides arange of services including primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiology deliveredeither by us or our specialist partners.

Join us at the beginning

Where possible, this rolewill be starting before the centre opens. During this period, you will beundertaking your company and centre induction, supporting setting up thedepartment, helping where required, and generally supporting the service to golive as prepared as we can be.

  • Providefull GP services including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis,treatment, and referrals.

Requirements:

  • Fullyqualified GP with current GMC registration and licence to practise.
  • Experiencein primary care, with sound clinical decision-making and patient managementskills.
  • Strongunderstanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and healthcare delivery insecure environments.
  • Excellentcommunication and teamwork skills.
  • Experienceworking in a secure healthcare environment, secure units, or with vulnerablepopulations.
  • Additionalqualifications in substance misuse, mental health, or sexual health.
  • Knowledgeof relevant NHS and prison healthcare policies and procedures.
