General Operative/ Labourer - Oxford

Overview

Location: Oxford. Joseph Gallagher Limited, a leading construction company, is seeking dedicated general labourers to join our team. A CSCS card is required, and applicants who are motivated to work hard are encouraged to apply and become a valuable part of our organisation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various tasks on construction sites, including digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
• Provide support to skilled tradespeople by fetching tools and materials as required.
• Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, removing obstacles, and setting up necessary equipment.
• Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to accomplish project objectives.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site.
• Report any hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with general site maintenance and upkeep, including cleaning and tidying.

Requirements

• Valid CSCS card is essential.
• Previous experience in construction or a related field is advantageous.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
