Talbot Hotel Carlow, part of the Talbot Collection, are currently recruiting for an experienced General Manager.This is an excellent opportunity for a General Manager who wishes to further their career within a progressive group.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the hotel and the departments therein as well as overseeing the running of the Dome Family Entertainment Centre in conjunction with the Dome's General Manager.

Main Duties:

• Oversee all departments of the hotel, maximising operational efficiency in each;
• Ensure consistent operational effectiveness, guest satisfaction and exceptional service throughout the hotel and the Dome;
• To assume full responsibility for all business decisions, operational management, financial performance and sales & marketing activity;
• To plan and operate within the annual budget guidelines ensuring that revenue is maximised, costs are controlled and profitability is achieved for the hotel and the Dome;
• Monitor productivity, manage payroll costs, and ensure efficient resource planning for both the hotel and the Dome;
• Work closely with the Dome Manager offering guidance, support and advice;
• Work closely with all HOD's, the General Manager in the Dome and with the other properties in The Collection to maximise service opportunities and thereby increase revenue
• Develop an amicable and personable business relationship with clients, guests and all the team;
• Champion and lead a culture which promotes positivity, employee engagement, development, empowerment and common goals, subsequently encouraging each team member to have pride in their work;
• Lead, motivate, and develop departmental managers and team members.
• Represent and embed Talbot Carlow and the Dome in the local community,
• Work closely with head office to develop and implement business strategies, projects and policies in line with Talbot Collection objectives and market conditions.
• To demonstrate professionalism and integrity at all times recognising that you are an ambassador for the Talbot Collection;
• To ensure that an effective structure of communication is maintained at all times;
• Ensure that each member of staff is trained competently to complete their duties and to fulfil departmental standards and guests expectations;
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, hygiene, employment law, data protection, and hospitality regulations
• Promote sustainability initiatives and lead a culture of continuous improvement across the hotel and the Dome;

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a General Manager/Deputy General Manager of a 4 Hotel Operation;
• Proven record of managing a team successfully to achieve results
• Be highly motivated and driven to achieve targets;
• Excellent business acumen, commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent decision making and negotiation skills
• Excellent time management and organisation skills

The successful candidate will report to the Group Managing Director.
