About the Venue

We are recruiting an experienced and driven General Manager to lead Popzone & Gorgeous Redditch.


This is a busy late-night venue with a strong events calendar and high weekend footfall. This is a hands-on senior management position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and has proven experience managing licensed premises, late-night trading and large teams.


We are looking for someone who can take full ownership of the venue, lead from the front and consistently deliver high standards across operations, compliance, customer experience and commercial performance.


The Role

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the venue, ensuring it operates safely, legally, profitably and to a consistently high standard.


Key responsibilities will include:


Full operational management of the venue


Leading, developing, training and motivating the management and staff teams


Recruiting and developing a strong, reliable venue team


Delivering excellent customer service and a safe, welcoming environment


Driving sales, footfall and overall venue performance


Managing staff rotas, payroll and labour costs within agreed budgets


Managing stock control, ordering, stocktakes, wastage and GP margins


Ensuring full compliance with premises licence conditions, licensing objectives, health & safety requirements and company policies


Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and maintenance throughout the venue


Working closely with security teams, Pubwatch, local authorities and other relevant agencies


Planning and delivering successful events, promotions and themed nights


Supporting and implementing venue marketing and promotional activity


Monitoring venue performance and providing regular management reports


Handling customer complaints, incidents and challenging situations professionally and confidently


Maintaining accurate compliance, incident and operational records


Leading by example during late-night trading and peak weekend periods


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional who is commercially focused, operationally strong and confident leading a late-night venue.


The successful candidate should have:


Proven experience as a General Manager or senior manager within a nightclub, late-night bar or high-volume hospitality venue


Strong knowledge and understanding of UK licensing law and licensing objectives


A valid Personal Licence issued under the Licensing Act 2003


Strong leadership and people-management skills


Experience managing rotas, payroll, labour budgets and staffing levels


Good understanding of stock management, GP margins and cost control


A strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability


Confidence dealing with security teams and managing incidents during late-night trading


Excellent communication and organisational skills


The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure


A proactive, hands-on management style


Flexibility to work evenings, late nights, weekends and key trading periods


A full UK driving licence would be advantageous

Working Pattern

This is a full-time management position and requires flexibility around the needs of the business. The successful candidate must be comfortable working late nights, weekends, bank holidays and key events, including being present during peak trading periods.
