Job Description

Job Title: General Manager / Site Manager - Fire Safety & Passive Fire

Location: Office based in Greater Manchester, visiting sites mainly in the North West (with some nationwide travel)

Salary: £41,000 per annum & Company Van

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to support our growing fire safety and passive fire protection operations. This is a hands on, site-focused role, overseeing multiple live projects and regularly visiting operatives on site to ensure works are completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Site-Based Responsibilities

  • Oversee and visit multiple live sites, primarily across the North West, with some national coverage as required
  • Conduct regular site visits to support and supervise operatives
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with fire safety and passive fire regulations
  • Monitor quality, progress, and compliance on site
  • Act as a point of contact for operatives regarding day to day site matters

Office-Based Responsibilities

  • Assist with operative details
  • Review and interpret drawings
  • Support with surveys and site documentation
  • Feed back site information to management as needed
Team & Structure
  • You will be joining an existing management function
  • There are currently three managers carrying out similar responsibilities, who are stretched due to workload
  • This role is being introduced to strengthen on site management and support
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in fire safety and passive fire protection
  • Strong understanding of passive fire systems so you can confidently assess and support site works
  • Background in site management/General Manager or a similar operational role
  • Comfortable travelling between multiple sites
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
