Job Description
Overview

Avery Healthcare is one of the UK's largest providers of luxury elderly care homes, offering exceptional care across a growing network of over 100 homes. They are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated General Manager to join their award-winning team in Edenbridge.

Main duties

As the General Manager, you will lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person-centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. You will be responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff, as well as ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. You will act as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and health and social care professionals, while also managing costs within budgetary controls.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care based on best practice.
  • Ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
  • Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals involved in residents' wellbeing.
  • Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained according to occupancy and dependency.
  • Providing ongoing inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.

Your focus as General Manager will be to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person-centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment, whilst meeting regulatory requirements, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets.

About you

To be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do. Our ideal candidate must:

  • Have a minimum of four years of experience in a similar care environment.
  • Have Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Possess excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and be competent in IT.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
