The Role: General Manager

We're on the hunt for a powerhouse General Manager who knows how to lead from the floor, crunch numbers in the back, and still find time to connect with our crowd.

This role isn't just about running a tight ship. It's about curating an experience, inspiring a team, and keeping the wild spirit of Bookclub alive and thriving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the venue's operations, ensuring smooth, seamless, and standout service

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-energy team while building a positive, dynamic culture

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations (while keeping things far from boring)

  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgets, margins, and sales targets

  • Develop and deliver smart, creative strategies to boost sales and profitability

  • Maintain top-tier customer service so every guest leaves smiling and comes back with pals

  • Drive marketing and promotional activity, from themed brunches to bizarre club nights

Who You Are
  • You've been around the block with proven experience as a GM in hospitality or similar

  • You're a natural leader who is firm but fair, and always leads by example

  • You know your numbers including budgets, P&L, stock, rotas, and revenue streams

  • You live for high-energy, high-volume environments and thrive under pressure

  • You've got a passion for hospitality and a knack for creating memorable experiences

  • You're proactive, creative, and results-driven

  • You understand health and safety, licensing, and all the behind-the-scenes essentials
