Job Description
Overview

The role of General Manager - Clinical (RGN Qualified) at Avery Healthcare involves leading and inspiring a team to deliver excellent, person-centred care to residents in a safe and stimulating environment.

Based at Birchmere House Care Home, Solihull, the successful candidate will manage recruitment, staff development, safe staffing, and budget oversight while upholding regulatory, professional and statutory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, aligning with best practice.
  • Oversee the ongoing recruitment, retention and development of staff within the Home.
  • Act as the focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals involved in residents' wellbeing.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with occupancy and dependency.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Maintain costs within budgetary controls by reviewing and monitoring stock regularly.
  • Meet regulatory requirements, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum four years of experience in a similar care environment.
  • Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and IT competency.
  • Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Additional Requirements

A DBS Disclosure check will be conducted - the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is required.
