Hours: 37.5 hours per week About the Role:

MPA Recruitment is currently seeking applications for the position of Legal Secretary on behalf of our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, professional and detail-focused individual to join a busy office environment, providing administrative and clerical support to a legal or professional services team.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate records, managing documentation, updating computer systems and supporting the wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks. This role would suit someone with previous office or administrative experience, as well as candidates looking to develop their skills within a legal or professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing general administrative and clerical support to the team.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on relevant computer systems.
  • Managing, organising and maintaining electronic and paper-based files.
  • Closing and archiving completed files in line with relevant procedures.
  • Retrieving and organising documents and files when required.
  • Scanning, uploading and digitising documentation to maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Assisting with document management and filing processes.
  • Preparing, formatting and processing correspondence and documentation as required.
  • Ensuring information is recorded accurately and efficiently.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately at all times.
  • Supporting colleagues with general administrative duties and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day office operations.
What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, clerical or office-based environment.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • A positive and flexible approach to work.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience within a legal, professional services or regulated environment.
  • Experience of document management, filing or records administration.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Previous experience providing administrative support to a busy team.
