Gardener (Part Time) - Bordon, Hampshire

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Gardener to join a beautiful private estate near Bordon, Hampshire, working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced Head Gardener. This part time, self employed position is for two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) and is ideal for candidates with practical gardening experience, good communication skills, and a genuine passion for horticulture. The successful applicant will play an important role in maintaining and developing the estate's recently redeveloped 10 acre gardens, working to high standards within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The stunning gardens provide a diverse and rewarding setting, featuring a large walled garden surrounding the main property, a productive orchard, extensive lawns, a wide collection of rose varieties, beautifully curated mixed herbaceous beds and borders, and a tranquil pond that serves as a focal point throughout the landscape. Designed to provide year round seasonal interest, the gardens offer an excellent opportunity for a gardener looking to work on a prestigious private estate.

The role involves a balanced mix of skilled horticultural work and general garden maintenance. Daily responsibilities include pruning, planting, weeding, propagation, training plants, mowing lawns, hedge cutting, pest and disease control, and maintaining the overall presentation of the gardens and grounds. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Gardener, requiring strong organisational skills, the ability to follow high horticultural standards, and a positive, collaborative approach to their work.

The ideal candidate will possess a general knowledge of gardening and demonstrate a willingness to continue developing their horticultural knowledge and practical skills. Experience in private gardens, estates, or similar environments would be beneficial. PA1 and PA6 certificates would be advantageous but are not essential, as training and support can be provided by the client. Applicants should be physically fit, enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy hands on outdoor work.

HOURLY RATE: £20/Hr Self employed
