An opportunity exists in the Council's Street Scene Services for a Gardener working within a small team based at the Depot on Monckton Road, Wakefield.

• Salary: £26,403.00 - £28,142.00
• Grade 5, 37 hours per week, Permanent

Responsibilities

• Work within recognised safe systems and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation.
• Serve as part of a Grounds Maintenance Team for a geographical area of the district.
• Undertake a range of horticultural and gardening duties in a professional manner, providing a citizen focused service that delivers clean, safe, accessible and attractive streets and open spaces to give the local community a sense of belonging.

Essential Requirements

• PA1, PA2 and PA6 Pesticides Application Certificate (Knap sacks).
• Current clean driving licence (C1+E).
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Sound knowledge of operating a range of powered machinery and plant including backpack blowers, pedestrian operated mowers, strimmers, hand held hedge cutters and similar equipment.
• Experience of horticultural and landscaping works.
