Fusion Product Manager
Swindon or Newport
Band F - £53,151 - £60,000
It's an exciting time to join UKSBS as we transform our business to be the leading UK public sector business service provider. We aim to become a very different organisation over the next few years as we move to a modern multi-platform, digitally enabled organisation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of the product management of one of our enterprise resource platform (ERP) solutions. This role has come about due to the implementation of a new cloud-based Oracle Fusion ERP which has replaced one of our on-premise Oracle systems. This Fusion service enables the delivery of HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement services to UKRI and UKSBS itself.
As part of the Digital and Information Senior Management Team and working closely with the Chief Product Owner for the ERP solution, you will be responsible for defining the product vision, prioritising the backlog and driving and enabling exploitation for both internal and external customers. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories for the development team. By continuously refining priorities based on feedback and business needs, you ensure alignment with our overall UKSBS Business Strategy and goals, while working to foster a culture of innovation and adaptability.
Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Work with senior stakeholders internally and in UKRI to establish a product vision aligned with our organisational goals, Business Strategy and Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
- Partner with Service and Process Owners to ensure ERP features meet business needs, acting as the bridge between ERP Solutions and the Agile team for smooth coordination.
- Align features and enablers with the technical roadmap, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and clear acceptance criteria.
- Leverage customer feedback and stakeholder input to refine features and enhance the ERP user experience.
- Ensure product roadmaps and backlogs align with LPM priorities, working with Business Owners to measure value and ROI.
- Provide clear guidance to teams, actively participating in PI Planning and Iteration Planning to drive alignment and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across UKSBS and UKRI at all levels, regularly updating and engaging around product status, metrics and progress.
- Identify and mitigate ERP-related risks and dependencies, collaborating with key stakeholders in UKSBS and UKRI to ensure smooth execution across Agile Release Trains.
To do this role well you will need:
- Proven track record of working as a Product Manager across Digital Products
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics) and their role in enabling business agility across functions.
- An understanding of Agile methodologies (i.e. SAFe), ceremonies and Lean Portfolio Management to align product objectives with enterprise goals.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams, influence decision making and foster a culture of accountability and delivery excellence.
- An agile mindset with the ability to pivot based on evolving priorities while staying focused on delivering customer value.
- Proficiency in benefits realisation management and the ability to drive exploitation of ERP products for both UKSBS and its customers.
- Ability to analyse and translate complex business requirements into prioritised ERP features, leveraging customer insights to drive business impacts and applying a Lean Agile mindset for continuous improvement.
- In depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices of Product Management
- Experience of working in a shared services environment and supporting systems
- Strong communication skills to align diverse stakeholders at all levels, clearly articulate product goals and drive collaboration
- Significant leadership abilities, combined with effective influencing, negotiating and representational skills
- Experience of developing and implementing change to deliver strategic goals and innovative responses to complex issues
