Functional Safety Engineer - REMOTE - OUTSIDE IR35

Contract Opportunity: Fully Remote Functional Safety Engineer (Outside IR35) - 3 months

Are you a skilled engineer with expertise in Functional Safety and standards like ISO13849, IEC 61508, and IEC 62061? We're looking for a highly flexible and self-driven engineer to join our team for a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. This position is fully remote and outside IR35, offering you the flexibility and autonomy to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quick Learner: Pick up certifications and project specifics efficiently, with the support of our team.

• Collaborative Work: Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project goals are met, with a flexible approach to the work process.

• Technical Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of Functional Safety standards and your technical background (no need to be a design engineer).

• Standards Knowledge: Apply your understanding of ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 62061, SIL, FMEA, MTTfd, and Performance Levels to ensure safety-related control systems meet requirements.

• Lifecycle Management: Involve yourself in the Safety Lifecycle, ensuring diagnostic coverage and effective safety assessments across systems.

• Flexible Role: The ideal candidate can come from a variety of backgrounds, provided they have experience in technical testing and approvals and a strong knowledge of Functional Safety principles.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in ISO 13849 (Category 2), IEC 61508, and IEC 62061.

• FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) expertise.

• In-depth knowledge of Safety Integrity Level (SIL), MTTfd, and Performance Levels.

• Hands-on experience with Safety Lifecycle Management.

• Previous exposure to Safety Related Control Systems.

• Strong understanding of diagnostic coverage and fault detection mechanisms.
