Functional and Non-functional Test Engineer for Strasbourg

We are looking for a Test Engineer, with expertise in functional and non-functional (performance) testing for a client project in Strasbourg.
Location: 80% On-site work in Strasbourg and 20% Off-site
Start date: One month
Duration: 1 year; possible extensions
Contract: Freelance only
Preliminary Requirements: Candidate should be citizen of member states of the European Union (EU nationality), and should be able to get their criminal record, should accept security clearance process.
Functional Test Engineer:
Task description:
- Perform test of an institutional software
- Review project and test deliverables according to internal guidelines, improving the quality of test management
- Propose Improvements on the test management process including test tools.
Job requirements:
- University degree (master or equivalent) in Computer Sciences;
- Minimum 6 years of relevant IT experience;
- Minimum 4 years of automated and manual software testing experience.
- Proven experience of Testing tools (eg Qtest/TOSCA/Selenium/Xray) and testing technologies.
- Good knowledge in infrastructure and networking and tools such as Stress tests tools (Jmeter); Code Quality Review tools (eg SonarQube), Test Execution Monitoring tools (Splunk), etc.), Automation Testing tools (eg TOSCA), Test Management tool (eg Qtest, QC), Requirements and Defect Management tools (Jira); Selenium
- Keen interest on quality and intense attention to detail;
- Ability to analyze results of testing correctly and to report on them efficiently;
- Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies;
- Very good English writing skills;
- Capacity in writing documents;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively with development team;
- Experience and willingness of working in an intemational/multicultural environment.
Performance (Non-Functional) Test Engineer:
Task description:
- Load Testing: Verify the system's behaviour under normal or slightly above-normal user load.
- Stress Testing: Push the system beyond its limits to observe how it reacts to overload conditions.
- Scalability Testing: Evaluate the system's ability to scale (horizontally or vertically) as user load increases.
- Soak Testing (Endurance): Verify system stability over an extended period under constant load.
- Volume Testing: Assess system performance when handling large volumes of data.

- LoadRunner - powerful commercial solution
- k6 - modern tool, JavaScript Scripting
- Locust - Python-base
