Fully Funded PhD: Nuclear PCI Modeling with Finite Elements

Amentum invites applications for a fully funded 3.5-year PhD studentship in nuclear fuel performance, starting 1 October 2026. The project investigates pellet-clad interaction using Abaqus and COMSOL, under Dr Thomas A. Haynes, in the UK.

Funding covers home-fee tuition, a tax-free stipend of £23,805 for 2026/27, plus a research training grant for equipment and travel. Applicants need a 2:1 in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science and must be prepared for BPSS/CTC clearance.
