Some children need movement before maths. Regulation before reading.
This primary specialist setting in South Shields supports pupils aged 5-9 with sensory processing difficulties and autism.
The environment is low-arousal, highly structured and carefully organised to reduce anxiety.

- Confident following structured routines
- Consistent with transitions
- Patient with slow academic progress
Many pupils begin the day with structured movement activities. You will supervise and support these sessions.
Classroom Support- 1:1 phonics intervention
- Practical maths activities
- Supporting fine motor development
- Encouraging communication attempts
Structured, supervised social interaction.
End of DayStaff remain until 4:00pm for notes and planning.
BehaviourLow-level dysregulation is expected and managed calmly. Clear systems are in place.
Experience & PaySEN or childcare experience desirable.
Trainee scale available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
