Role Title: Full Stack Azure Architect
Location: London (2 days on-site per week)
Duration: Until 31 December 2025
Day Rate: £425 Inside IR35

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Azure Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Operating at SFIA Level 5/6, the successful candidate will have deep expertise in full-stack development, data engineering, and cloud architecture, with particular focus on Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), PySpark, and SQL.
This role requires a hands-on architect with the ability to set strategic direction, define best practices, and engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design (SFIA ARCH 5/6)

• Architect end-to-end Azure solutions integrating full-stack applications with data platforms.
• Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using ADF and ADB.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and governance models.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Develop and optimise data pipelines using ADF for ETL/ELT processes.
• Build scalable data processing solutions with Azure Databricks and PySpark.
• Write and tune SQL queries for extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data into cloud-native data platforms.

Full Stack Development

• Build and deploy applications using .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Implement microservices and containerised solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Ensure automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications and workflows.

Consultancy & Stakeholder Engagement (SFIA CNSL 5/6)

• Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Provide guidance on cloud migration, modernisation, and data strategy.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure solutions align with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement data governance and quality frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and full-stack development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure services including ADF, ADB, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and data engineering best practice.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).

SFIA Level Alignment

• Level 6 (Initiate & Influence): Defines strategy, drives innovation, and shapes enterprise architecture decisions.
