Job Overview

Grant Thornton's Alternative Funds Tax team provides tax advisory, transactions and compliance services to alternative funds and their investment managers across all asset classes including private equity, venture capital, private debt, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure and crypto assets. The role is based in London and is compliance focused but also offers opportunities to work on domestic and international structuring, transactions and advisory projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full suite of tax compliance for asset managers and the funds they manage, including trading corporates, trading partnerships, investment partnerships, investor reporting and more.
  • Facilitate a smooth compliance process for clients, including operational matters such as financial management responsibilities, billing and debtor management.
  • Build strong client relationships within the current and target client base and deliver solutions on standalone advisory projects.
  • Take early responsibility for producing high quality client deliverables while developing a commercial understanding of alternative investment management and related tax issues.
  • Support business development activities, identifying opportunities on existing clients and pursuing new work.
  • Act as a role model for junior team members by supporting and championing their development and participating in coaching and upskilling efforts.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Confidence managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong tax technical skills and an interest in the asset management sector; experience with alternative asset classes (private equity, venture capital, private credit, etc.) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in both corporate and partnership tax compliance.
  • A track record of leading projects with a focus on accountability, high quality and timely delivery.
  • Self motivated and a strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
  • Familiarity with Alpha Tax, CCH Personal Tax, Power BI, Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior team members.
