Job Description
Front of House Team Leader - The Canteen 
Role: Front of House Team Leader
Full Time: 25-45 hours, 4-5 shifts a week across a 7 day rota. The hours will vary seasonally approx. 30-45 hours in summer & 25-30 hours in winter.
Opening hours: 8am - 5pm with some evening events
Hourly Pay: £13 per hour (plus tips)
Location: The Canteen, The Hotwalls, Old Portsmouth
- Coordinating the successful running of a smooth, cohesive shift throughout The Canteen's opening hours
- Representing The Canteen and promoting The Coastal Kitchen Family values; Family, Community, Honesty & Hospitality
- Maintaining and leading established systems and processes to the highest standard
- Assisting with the management of staff in both kitchen and Front of House teams, in conjunction with the senior management team. (GM, AGM and Head Chef)
- Responding in house enquiries and dealing with customer complaints in a formal manner
- Assisting with Back of House administrative duties
- Ordering Front of House stock when required (in absence of Team Leader responsible for ordering)
- Handling deliveries and liaising with our suppliers
- Cash handling both during the course of the day and at the end of the shift
- Keyholding and alarm contact
- Sound knowledge of our EHO policies with a confident understanding of what to do in the event of an EHO inspection
- Ensuring established Food Safety and Health & Safety processes and standards are met and maintained at an excellent standard
- Assisting in managing daily hours sheets, Front of House rota changes and record keeping for staff absence
- Maintaining a regular practice of one-to-ones with your allocated group of team members
- Responding to simple emails and phone queries on a daily basis
- Recording daily goings on and issues in the communications book
- Identifying a role/project with the general manager and taking responsibility for this role/project
- To be able to run an evening event in the absence of the general manager professionally and to a high standard.
