Our client is seeking an experienced, results-driven Fresh Food Trainer with a strong grounding in food safety management, quality assurance, audits and compliance, and team development. In this role, you'll get fresh food departments audit-ready for health and safety and food safety, support deli teams with inventory, and keep food quality and presentation at the highest standard. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from a high-profile retail supermarket, fresh food convenience business, or front-of-house catering or café environment serving fresh deli produce, ideally in a senior fresh food management or group trainer role. You'll be a passionate fresh food professional and an excellent communicator, highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and a natural talent for solving problems. - Visit multiple stores to deliver hands-on training, coaching, and operational support to fresh food teams.
- Develop and implement effective training programmes and performance strategies to improve staff productivity and efficiencies
- Monitor and maintain high standards of quality assurance, food safety, and operational compliance across all fresh food departments.
- Conduct food safety and quality assurance audits, ensuring compliance with HACCP principles, food hygiene regulations, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Identify compliance gaps and operational risks, implementing corrective actions and providing guidance and training to ensure standards are consistently maintained.
- Support and prepare stores for internal and external food safety inspections and audits, ensuring all relevant documentation and procedures are maintained.
- Conduct workshop training and assist in hiring for areas of food safety
- 4-5 years of proven experience in fresh food retail, ideally within a training, supervisory, departmental management, or multi-site support role.
- Strong commercial understanding, including P&L, gross profit margins, sales analysis, waste management, and departmental profitability.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP principles minimum of level 3 completed, food safety standards, quality assurance procedures, and health and safety compliance.
- Experience conducting food safety audits, identifying compliance issues, and implementing effective corrective measures.
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and motivate teams to improve performance and achieve business objectives.
- A proactive and innovative approach to developing strategies that drive additional sales, improve operational efficiency, and enhance profitability.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence, support, and develop teams at all levels.
- Flexibility to travel between stores as required, with a full, valid driving licence.
