The Role We're looking for a hands-on, proactive Fraud Operations Manager to lead fraud operations, manage a team of analysts, overhaul manual processes, and build scalable workflows that keep our platform secure as we grow. You will work with Analytics, Product, and CS, reporting to the Head of Fraud, ensuring the team runs efficiently and stays ahead of emerging fraud patterns.
Key Responsibilities- Run Fraud Ops: Lead day-to-day fraud operations tasks, alerts, escalations, chargebacks/disputes, and reviews.
- Streamline Processes: Deprecate repetitive manual tasks and replace with automated workflows and prioritized queues.
- Develop Typologies: Build playbooks for key fraud types with tags, alert logic, metrics, and response playbooks.
- Upskill and Delegate: Assign ownership of fraud verticals to analysts with redundancy and documentation; develop team members into specialists.
- Own Ops Metrics: Maintain dashboards tracking false positives/negatives, rule hit rates, review times, and chargeback performance; use metrics to drive action.
- Support New Products: Define and launch fraud ops support for new product flows including processes, alerts, and documentation.
- 4+ years experience in fraud or financial risk operations, ideally within fintech or payments
- Strong instincts for systems, prioritisation, and team management
- Experience with tools like Sift, Mode, and Zendesk is a plus
- Excellent judgment and written communication under pressure
- Hands-on, low-ego approach committed to efficiency
- Ability to collaborate across teams and build high-trust relationships
- Detail oriented with a pragmatic attitude and a can-do mentality
- Ability to work independently and balance priorities
