Job Description

FP&A Manager

We are currently recruiting for a FP&A Manager with London markets experience to join one of our Insurance clients on a 6-month contract.

Inside IR35

Hybrid- 2 days a week onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend divisional and Integrated Business Unit (IBU) management meetings as required for your area of responsibility
  • Responsible for collecting and reviewing business inputs for Plan at both and SBU and entity level, ensuring understanding of all P&L components (albeit many aspects will be collected and input into planning tool centrally - reinsurance contracts, loss ratios, expenses, etc)
  • Provide key assistance in the business planning process; working closely with the Central Planning team to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the business plan, contributing to packs and commentaries to explain movements and supporting a full review of the numbers ahead of submission to Global Risk Solutions
  • Record and track risks & opportunities versus Plan for their business unit(s)
  • Produce monthly full year forecasts
  • Work closely with the Reporting team to ensure the result is landed correctly and journals are posted where required (by Reporting team)
  • Work closely with the Planning team to ensure assumptions are appropriate
  • Present and clearly explain financial analysis (actuals and plan) to the underwriting teams, senior stakeholders and GRS often within very tight timescales;

Skills and Experience:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with relevant work experience, preferably in the same or similar role.
  • An in depth knowledge of level of insurance accounting and industry knowledge.
  • A trusted advisor who is highly skilled at developing key relationships and the abiity to quickly build credibility, trust and rapport to encourage open and meaningful dialogue.
  • Highly analytical approach to work to complete detailed analysis with structured, robust approach to data manipulation, interpretation and present findings in a clear and simple manner.
  • Ability to consider a variety of data and information sources, approaches and possible outcomes for decision making.
  • Ability to ensure metrics and decisions are aligned to strategic priorities and supported by fact based quatitative and qualititative data, information and analytical thinking.
  • A high level of resilience, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and deadlines, through effective planning, organisational skills and ability to adapt to changing situations, people and environments.
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge of risk management and application.
  • Minimum Intermediate MS Excel skills and experience with Microsoft BI, SAP and Oryx planning would be advantageous.
