Job Description

Job Description The Group FP&A team is central to helping Sage make better decisions, create competitive advantage, and successfully deliver its strategy. The team enables the Group to influence revenue and cost lines by supporting budgeting and planning with resultant monitoring through forecasting and reporting to add value and insight whilst working collaboratively with the business.

This position will sit within Sage's Group finance function and will play a crucial role as we continue to grow in the marketplace, emerge through times of change and execute our strategy to become a leading SaaS business. The finance function has global responsibility for the accounting and reporting of over £2bn revenue and £0.5bn operating profit within and outside the UK. This role will focus on reporting prior period results alongside forward-looking matters, including forecasting, budgeting, finance strategy and project work.

As this role involves constant interaction with senior stakeholders across the business, both within and external to finance, you will need the confidence and emotional intelligence to effectively communicate at all levels. The ideal candidate will have experience of the SaaS / software industry and will enjoy operating in an extremely fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have prior experience of reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes.

Location - This role will be based at London Bridge and will involve low to medium travel.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities •Play a key role in the monthly reporting and forecasting processes, delivering consistent, timely, accurate, high quality, and insightful financial and non-financial deliverables to facilitate and support commercial decision making.
•Contribute to the budgeting process, aiding the delivery of a budget aligned to the strategic priorities by partnering with Regional and Functional teams.
•Understanding and challenging reporting, budgeting and forecasting submissions to obtain the detail of key drivers of performance for communication with ELT.
•Drive continuous process improvement, assisting stakeholders with necessary improvement or changes, including design and creation of new processes.
•Collaborate with Finance Business Partners across global organisation to ensure the impact of commercial decisions is understood and outcomes where necessary are executed accurately.
•Work closely with the finance systems team to maintain and enhance our financial tools.
•Broader support of finance team and ad-hoc projects including collection, analysis, and management of data to provide analytical insights.
•Understands Sage strategy and can relate it back to monthly performance through commentary.

Skills, know-how and experience:
•Able to combine a confidence to challenge and assert one's own views amongst senior colleagues and peers with an ability to listen, influence, and adapt to the viewpoints and opinions of others.
•Keen interest in the SaaS business model and the metrics associated with measuring SaaS performance.
•Commercial & can demonstrate great business understanding, analytical and with a strong attention to detail. Enjoys working in a hands-on environment and has a genuine interest in understanding the numbers.
•Used to working to deadlines with minimal supervision and managing multiple stakeholders. Strong sense of accountability for tasks and projects.
•Able to tackle complex problems in an environment of ambiguity where not all the desired information may be available.
•Experience in providing actionable insights to support commercial decision making and drive business strategy and growth objectives.
•Advanced user of excel, with excellent skills in financial modelling and trend analysis.
•Comfortable working with finance systems with an ability to identify the most efficient tools for the task.
•Ability to think creatively, highly driven, ambitious, and self-motivated. Shows resilience with a positive attitude to change.
