Job Description
Founding Engineer (Full Stack / Systems) - London - up to £135k

We're working with an incredibly ambitious and YC backed browser automation organisation who are building a platform that helps organisations securely access and automate the web-based tools they rely on every day, who are hiring for a Founding Engineer as they continue to grow.

Their product is already used by large, global organisations to improve security, reduce manual work, and give teams better control over how access to systems is managed.

As an early engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping both the product and the company, working closely with customers, contributing across the stack, and helping define how this technology evolves.

What you'll work on

You'll help design and build a system that safely automates real user workflows in the browser. Areas you might contribute to include:

  • Automation engine - making browser-based workflows more reliable and capable
  • Secure local environments - improving performance and safety on user devices
  • User-facing tools - enabling non-technical users to configure workflows
  • Platform controls & visibility - helping organisations understand and manage automation
  • Secure infrastructure - building systems that protect sensitive data end-to-end
How you'll work
  • Ownership with support
You'll take responsibility for meaningful problems, while collaborating closely with a small, experienced team.
  • Customer-informed building
You'll engage directly with users to understand real-world challenges and shape solutions that genuinely help.
  • Collaborative problem solving
They value thoughtful engineering, shared learning, and clear communication over heroics.
  • Across the stack (with flexibility)
You don't need experience in everything - you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow into new areas.
What they're looking for

(They are less focused on ticking every box, and more interested in how you think and build)

  • Experience building and shipping software used by real users
  • Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity about complex systems
  • An interest in understanding user needs and translating them into solutions
  • A sense of ownership and pride in your work
  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
Helpful (but not required)
  • Familiarity with TypeScript or modern web technologies
  • Experience with browser automation tools (e.g. Puppeteer, Selenium)
  • Exposure to security concepts or identity systems
  • Experience working across frontend and backend systems
