Mountain Healthcare is looking for passionate, dedicated, and resilient individuals to join our teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals.
Main duties- Performing forensic sampling, including blood tests for road traffic offences.
- Signposting, referrals, supporting vulnerabilities, and helping patients break re-offending patterns.
- Delivering substance misuse therapies.
- Assessing and caring for detainees and staff in custody suites.
- Promoting good personal healthcare.
- Collaborating with Liaison and Diversion teams to identify mental health needs.

Job responsibilitiesThis role is suitable for Registered Nurses and qualified Paramedics with over three years of experience. Custody environments are dynamic, with detainees held up to 24 hours, requiring high-quality care for various needs, from substance dependencies to medical emergencies. Our professionals are trained to collect forensic samples to aid police investigations. Experience in forensics is not required, as training is provided. This role offers a better work-life balance with a 2-on, 6-off rota, including day and night shifts, suitable for part-time applicants. The position is based at Salfords Police Custody Suite. Person Specification Qualifications- Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification.
- At least three years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prisons, or as a Paramedic Practitioner is advantageous but not essential.
This role requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Applicants must submit to a criminal record check.
