Forensic Nurse or Paramedic - Banbury - Custody
  • £1500 sign-on bonus (pro-rata for part-time)
  • £500 referral bonus for healthcare professional referrals
  • We will pay £120 NMC registration fees per year
  • We will pay £98.12 HCPC registration fees per year

Mountain Healthcare is looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals.

Main duties
  • Forensic sampling, including bloods for road traffic offences
  • Signposting, referrals, and supporting patients to reduce re-offending
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies
  • Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody
  • Promoting personal healthcare
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify mental health needs

Job responsibilities

This role is suitable for RGN's and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' experience. Custody environments are dynamic, with detainees held up to 24 hours, requiring high levels of care and forensic sample collection training, which we provide. Experience in forensics is not necessary; training will be provided to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

The role offers a 4-on-4-off rota, providing clear work-life boundaries, with shifts of two days, two nights, then four days off. Positions available for full-time and part-time work at Banbury Police Custody Suite.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Experience in A&E, community nursing, substance misuse, police custody, or similar is advantageous

This role requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
