JOB DESCRIPTION: Ready to lead Food Safety and Compliance at one of Abbott's most strategically important manufacturing sites? We are seeking an experienced Food Safety & Compliance Manager to join Abbott Nutrition in Cootehill, home to Abbott's largest powder manufacturing facility globally. In this highly visible leadership role, you will drive food safety excellence, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement while leading a team responsible for protecting product quality and consumer safety. Working across Quality, Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance, you will play a key role in shaping site strategy, influencing culture, and ensuring world-class food safety standards are embedded across the organisation. What You'll Do- Lead the site's Food Safety Management Team and HACCP programme.
- Drive food safety, sanitation, microbiological control, and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure audit readiness across corporate, customer, and regulatory inspections.
- Provide oversight of environmental monitoring, pest control, and sanitation programmes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify risks, improve processes, and strengthen compliance.
- Develop and coach a high-performing team while fostering a culture of food safety excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Experience Significant experience within food manufacturing, regulated environments or quality leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing HACCP systems and food safety programmes.
- Experience leading audits and regulatory inspections.
- Demonstrated success driving compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, cGMP and Preventive Controls.
- Deep understanding of food microbiology, sanitation and environmental monitoring.
- Excellent auditing, investigation and risk assessment skills.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Effective project management, problem-solving and change management skills.
- Excellent communication and technical writing abilities.
