The Great National South Court Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Food & Beverage Assistant to join our dedicated breakfast & lunch team. This is a vital role for someone who takes pride in starting our guests' days off perfectly. As a key member of our breakfast and lunch service, you will be responsible for setting up the restaurant and providing friendly, efficient service during the busiest part of the day. Your early start will ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for our guests.

This role requires flexibility to work weekdays and weekends, with a 6 am start time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Set-Up & Readiness: Commence duties at 6am, preparing the restaurant and buffet areas to ensure they are fully set up, well presented, and ready for service in line with brand standards.
  • Guest Focused Service Delivery: Deliver a friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests, including order taking, food and beverage service, and table clearing, ensuring a positive dining experience throughout service periods.
  • Buffet & Service Area Oversight: Monitor, replenish, and maintain buffet and service stations to ensure freshness, presentation, and availability are consistently maintained during service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and front of house colleagues to support smooth service delivery and contribute to a cohesive, supportive team environment.
  • Standards, Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation at all times, adhering strictly to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety requirements.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate must be a morning person, as this shift will begin at 6 am! The ideal candidate must also have:

  • Experience in a high volume/fast paced Food & Beverage environment is essential.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to a long term career in the field.
  • POS system experience would be advantageous.
  • Team player with the ability to multi task and have excellent presentation skills with a fine eye for detail.
  • Excellent personal presentation/grooming to represent our brand professionally at all times.
  • A true people person who can deliver exceptional customer service with confidence and professionalism.
  • A warm, friendly, positive and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
  • Ability to take the initiative and demonstrate working independently while multi tasking and following up on queries and enquiries as part of a shift.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
  • A hard working problem solver with a can do attitude who can think outside the box.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi task and prioritise tasks effectively and maintain a seamless operation in particular during busy periods.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
  • Have full permission or hold a valid visa to work in the EU.
