Posted 3 hours 29 minutes ago by Ambitious about Autism
Are you passionate about helping autistic young people build confidence, independence and fulfilling careers? Do you want to make a real difference by supporting young people to take the next step after education and succeed in the world of work? If so, we would love to hear from you!
St John's College, part of Ambitious about Autism, is looking for a dedicated and proactive Follow-on Job Coach to support graduates from our Supported Internship programmes at Amazon in Crawley and Chartwells at the University of Sussex in Falmer, near Brighton.
About the role
As a Follow-on Job Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic young people as they move from their Supported Internship into paid employment and take the next steps in their careers.
Working with graduates from our programmes at Amazon Crawley and Chartwells at the University of Sussex, you will provide tailored, individual support to help them find employment, settle into new roles and maintain successful, long-term careers. You will work closely with graduates, employers and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities, overcome barriers and ensure that each individual has the right support to thrive in the workplace.
Your role will include supporting graduates with job searching, completing applications, preparing for interviews and developing the skills and confidence needed to secure employment. You will also provide ongoing in-work coaching, working with both the individual and their employer to build independence, strengthen workplace skills and support a successful transition into employment.
Every graduate will have their own strengths, aspirations and support needs, so you will take an individualised approach, adapting your coaching to help each person achieve their employment goals. You will also help employers understand how best to support autistic employees, promoting inclusive working practices and helping to create positive, sustainable employment opportunities.
This is an opportunity to build on the progress made during the Supported Internship and help graduates turn their workplace experience into lasting employment.
Why join us?
At Ambitious about Autism, we believe autistic young people should have the opportunity to learn, thrive and achieve in a world where they belong. Employment can be a significant step towards greater independence, confidence and choice, and your work will help make this possible.
You will join a team committed to improving employment outcomes for autistic young people, working in partnership with employers to create opportunities where individuals can develop their skills, contribute their talents and succeed.
If you are a supportive, resourceful and motivated individual who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and helping others reach their potential, we would love to hear from you.
Join us and help autistic young people turn their ambitions into lasting careers.
