FLT Product Transfer Operative - Food Manufacturing (4 on 4 off) 
Salary & Shift Pattern
£13.34 per hour, with potential to earn up to £14.21 per hour
Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotation
6:00am - 6:00pm
6:00pm - 6:00am
Overtime available at 1.5x basic rate
Job PurposeReporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for the effective transfer of product from production (process) to packing. The role ensures product integrity is maintained during transfer, waste is minimised and correctly managed, and all quality control processes are followed.
You will also support raw material transfers into the mill, assist with waste management activities, and provide additional operational support across the site when required.
Key Deliverables- Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient product transfer from process to packing
- Maintain product quality and integrity at all times
- Reduce and manage waste effectively
- Ensure equipment is set correctly and functioning as required
- Support wider operational needs across the site when required
- Work safely and consistently in line with site standards
- Maintain traceability of product, including quantities within WIP systems
- Carry out product purging to prevent cross-contamination
- Follow production plans to fit correct mesh screens to Mogensen sieves
- Set up and adjust Tomra optical sorters to suit product requirements
- Collect and manage regrind materials at the end of production runs
- Consolidate regrind into coded totes, process through systems, and store appropriately
- Assist with raw material transfers into the mill using FLT
- Provide support to site waste management operations when required
- Ensure correct handling and segregation of materials to maintain quality standards
- Ensure full compliance with product traceability requirements
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational control
- Support production efficiency through accurate setup and handling of equipment
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
- Ensure correct use of systems for stock, waste, and material tracking
- Follow production schedules and prioritise tasks effectively
- Support continuous improvement in waste reduction and material handling
- FLT licence (essential)
- Self-motivated with strong ownership of work area
- Proactive and supportive team player
- Manufacturing experience (food, pet food, or FMCG preferred)
- Food Safety Level 2 (preferred)
- Awareness of BRC standards
- IOSH Working Safely (desirable)
