Job Description
Overview

Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Flood Test and Clean Technician. You'll be based at our Raynesway depot in Derbyshire where you will travel to our local reservoirs. This is a 40 hours per week role, working across a range of locations. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of the potable tank flood testing programme and maintaining compliance with relevant Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Water Hygiene requirements. You will have a curiosity to drive continuous improvement, influence a positive culture and take pride in ensuring flood tests are completed to the required standard, while highlighting all possible water quality risks to ensure consistent care for all potable tanks (DSRs and process tanks) regardless of purpose, size or location. You will also capture accurate and timely assurance data to support asset condition grading and investment planning.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver the annual flood testing programme in collaboration with the Potable Tank Assurance Specialist and Treatment Teams.
  • Ensure safety and environmental protection during flood tests, preventing harm to people, assets and the environment.
  • Identify and resolve blockers to keep the programme on track, while seeking innovations to improve efficiency and water quality resilience.
  • Maintain health and safety standards and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Carry out flood tests of potable tanks as part of the annual inspection programme.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful, it's expected that you will have knowledge of working on potable water tanks, suitable health, safety, environmental qualifications, hold a Water Hygiene blue card and be physically fit and able to undertake manual handling in enclosed area entry duties. You will also have an understanding of water and distribution systems and processes and water quality sampling methods. As travel is required, you must hold a full UK driving licence.
