Job Title: Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

Location: Based near Eastbourne

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly-respected, innovative multidisciplinary consultancy, renowned for lending their expertise to civil engineering, flood risk and surface water drainage projects, including residential developments, commercial developments, sports stadiums and more. They are seeking a talented, experienced Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside a growing team based near the picturesque coastal town of Eastbourne.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects across the public and private sectors, including residential and commercial developments, sports venues, schools, rail and infrastructure
  • Complete technical work in flood risk mitigation, including Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Estimation Reports
  • Work with drainage strategies and complete Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) design
  • Utilise software to produce technical work and designs, including MicroDrainage and AutoCAD
Required skills and experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Hydrology
  • Prior experience in a UK consultancy setting, in a design-based role
  • Experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and Drainage Design
  • Competencies in Hydraulic Modelling
  • Experience designing a range of infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in MicroDrainage, AutoCAD and other relevant software
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills and experience
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Based in the South-East of England, with knowledge of the local area
  • Excellent time management skills
