What you will do
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and utilisation of the council's vehicle fleet, including cars, vans, and specialist vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation, including DVSA regulations, operator licensing, and health & safety standards.
  • Manage vehicle servicing, inspections, MOTs, and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Monitor and control fleet budgets, procurement, and lifecycle management of vehicles.
  • Implement and oversee fleet policies, including driver safety, telematics, and fuel efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in fleet management, transport, engineering, or logistics is desirable.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management is a plus.
  • A track record of continued professional development.
  • Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations and operator licensing requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
