To deputise for the Branch Manager to cover holidays, absence and other events as required.
To replace and repair both in branch and mobile all types of automotive glass including related products efficiently and effectively for all types of vehicles, both commercial and domestic.
To assist with office administration tasks, including stock management, arranging customer appointments and any ad hoc tasks provided by management.
To learn and understand the company's IT systems relevant to the administration tasks you undertake.
To positively promote yourself, your van (if applicable) and your branch in a professional manner on behalf of the Company and National Windscreens.
To achieve and maintain standards of workmanship and performance in accordance with the company's training requirements and grading system.
To demonstrate pride in your work and to ensure the job is right the first time, thereby satisfying customer requirements and minimising remedial work.
NVQ Level 2 qualification in Automotive Glazing, or equivalent, is required.
Customer Service- Communicate with customers in a polite, respectful and professional manner at all times.
- Follow the company's meet and greet procedure.
- Ensure all technicians' procedures are adhered to as set out in section 9 of the company's procedures manual.
- Ensure all other sections within the company's procedures manual are adhered to relevant to the task you are undertaking.
- Comply at all times with the standards required by the company's ISO quality accreditation.
- Adhere to, understand and be fully conversant with the company's Health and Safety policy and assume a duty of care for yourself, your work colleagues and the general public.
- Adhere to customer Health and Safety working on site regulations.
- Worn company uniform must be kept clean and presentable at all times.
- All personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times without exception.
- Report any infringements of quality or safety to the company's Quality, Safety and Training Manager.
- Complete job/environment risk assessment before commencing the task to ensure safety of all.
- Prior to commencement, ensure the vehicle is checked in the presence of the owner or other responsible person (pre inspection) and any damage is recorded and agreed as pre existing on your defect report.
- On completion, re check the vehicle (post inspection) and record any damage incurred as a result of the task on your defect report and agree with the customer before informing the branch manager.
- Carry out tasks in accordance with appropriate training and guidelines as required through company policy and procedure.
- Be fully conversant with the company's policies in respect of car care, cold weather and bonding procedures, or any other procedures that may be introduced.
- Utilise appropriate tools authorised by the company.
- Check working parts such as wipers and sensors are in working order before removal.
- Ensure all parts are removed, stored safely and replaced carefully.
- Re check parts such as wipers and sensors are in working order before leaving the job.
- Accurately complete all documentation relevant to your job or task.
- Collect cash when necessary from customers and hand in all cash at the earliest opportunity to the branch manager/assistant branch manager and sign for the transfer.
- Follow the company's cash handling procedure.
- If the customer wishes to pay by credit or debit card, either take the payment if you have a PDQ machine, or alternatively, connect the customer to the branch for payment to be taken.
- Ensure open communication regarding all office administration you may undertake.
- Join the 'call out' rota applicable to the branch you are working from, with numbers of technicians employed at that branch determining the actual rota together with consideration of administration tasks assigned.
- May be required to work beyond normal hours on short notice due to the nature of the role and customer needs.
- Ensure that less experienced technicians or technician assistants, who may, from time to time, be under your supervision, follow all company procedures and trainers' guidelines.
