An exciting opportunity has arisen within an industry-leading environmental company that provides a wide range of fire risk and compliance services to clients throughout the UK. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced, dedicated, and hardworking Fire Stopping Engineer to join their team based in and around the Preston area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all passive fire protection services and procedures as well as carrying out installations and inspections on fire stopping measures. Qualified NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or FIRAS qualification will also be beneficial. Applications from Blackburn, Blackpool, Lancaster and surrounding areas will be considered.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Relevant industry qualifications in fire prevention and fire door inspections.
  • Hands on experience carrying out fire stopping works to various properties, including commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
  • Experience working on social housing.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection or FIRAS qualification.
  • Extensive experience inspecting and installing fire prevention systems, fire doors, alarms, and extinguishers.
  • Good working knowledge of fire risk and health & safety procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of passive fire protection measures and policies.
  • Must hold an IPAF/PASMA certificate.
  • Full clean driving licence beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Office.
Responsibilities
  • Undertake fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden duties, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings, delivering training courses, etc.
  • Install fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers and fire suppression systems.
  • Carry out inspections of fire stopping measures and systems such as fire doors, alarms, extinguishers, etc.
  • Deliver presentations and training to internal staff as required.
  • Develop and maintain a varied portfolio of clients - both new and existing.
  • Liaise with clients regarding preventative measures and provide quotes for works.
  • Address any issues which may arise effectively and appropriately.
  • Support and liaise with the Fire Safety Consultant regarding consultancy work.

The successful candidate will be hardworking and reliable, with a flexible and adaptive approach to their work. They will be experienced in passive fire protection measures and demonstrate professional knowledge and experience gained in a similar role.
