Fire Officer
Posted 3 hours 13 minutes ago by HOUSE OF COMMONS-3
What you'll be doing
As a Fire Officer at the UK Parliament, you'll play a frontline role in keeping the Parliamentary Estate safe. Working within a dynamic, shift-based watch team, you'll be at the heart of prevention, protection, and incident response - helping safeguard one of the nation's most iconic and high-profile workplaces.
Every day brings variety. You'll run fire evacuation drills, carry out patrols and inspections, and monitor critical fire alarm systems from the Control Room. When alerts happen, you'll mobilise quickly, working closely with the London Fire Brigade and supporting live incident response, salvage activity, and evacuations when needed.
You'll also take ownership of recording inspections, supporting contractor compliance, managing permits, and delivering engaging fire safety training to parliamentary staff. This is a unique opportunity to build specialist skills, work across historic and modern buildings, and make a real impact on the safety of everyone who works in or visits Parliament.
