Our client is currently looking to hire a Financial Reporting Manager to join the team on a hybrid working basis, with the client site based in Basingstoke. This role is outside IR35.

This position encompasses responsibilities for month-end processes, technical accounting, group and subsidiary statutory accounts, audit requests, and other ad hoc activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of notes for consolidated group accounts
  • Completion of subsidiary statutory accounts and project management for audits, working closely with external auditors
  • Ownership of month-end procedures, including reporting and forecasting of the group's £2.2bn debt, pensions, and share-based payments
  • Posting central journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and control activities
  • Driving process improvements for month-end and year-end procedures
  • Monitoring and reporting compliance with debt covenants and requirements of WBS debt documents
  • Accounting for debt issues, redemptions, refinancing, and drafting technical accounting papers for auditors and Audit Committee
  • Monthly accounting of derivative transactions and maintaining hedging documentation
  • Responding to financial accounting queries and drafting accounting papers on group accounting matters
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS & FRS 101 standards and assessing impacts of new standards
  • Performing ad hoc analysis and project work, such as refinancing activities

Capabilities, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience in an accountancy environment with comprehensive financial control knowledge
  • Strong technical accounting expertise
  • Highly numerate with excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • High-quality work suitable for presentation to senior stakeholders and external auditors

Education and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
