An amazing opportunity for a Financial Reporting & Control Manager to join a vibrant London Local Authority. This interim role takes responsibility for leading and managing the annual closing process.

Description
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting and managing a team of Accountants, the Financial Reporting & Control Manager will take responsibility for leading and managing the annual closing process and in year financial reporting to senior officers.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing the the annual closing processes and providing technical accounting expertise to produce the statement of accounts in line with statutory guidance and timescales
- Leading the development of accountancy expertise within the Shared Finance Service ensuring appropriate accounting knowledge and advice is provided
- Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting & Control to provide consistently high quality support, advice and challenge to the Assistant Directors (Finance) and the s151 officers in all aspects of financial reporting and control
- Assisting the Head of Financial Reporting & Control to manage and report corporate financial health and in year budget monitoring updates
Profile
The Financial Reporting & Control Manager will be CCAB Qualified with demonstrable experience of closing the financial accounts.
- Identifying and delivering service improvements to reduce costs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team
- Delivering activities via the Shared Finance Service (SFS).
- Knowledge and understanding of financial controls and governance.
Job Offer
A daily rate of c.£511 per day.
