Financial Regulation and AML Assistant

The Law Society of Ireland is inviting applications for a Financial Regulation and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Assistant. This is a dual-role position within the Financial Regulation and AML Sections of the Regulation Department, offered on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator or secretary with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with databases and case management systems would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility in their approach to work, possess strong organisational skills, and be capable of working effectively as part of a team.
Main duties and responsibilities- Updating and maintaining case management systems, including scanning incoming post and saving emails
- General copy typing
- Dealing with queries on regulatory history of solicitors
- Scanning & Filing of documents
- Monitoring various email address handles
- Maintaining and updating various Excel spreadsheets
- Liaising with team of investigating accountants and other executives
- Answering telephone and email queries from solicitors and accountants and assisting in dealing with such queries
- Drafting correspondence to solicitors and accountants
- Preparation of documentation for regulatory committee meetings
- Preparation of documentation in fulfilment of court orders
- Uploading documents onto the Intellidocs system
- Acting as receptionist at in-person meetings of regulatory committees
- Hosting virtual committee meetings
- Liaising with committee members
- Other miscellaneous duties assigned by the Head of Financial Regulation or Head of AML
- Excellent administrative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
- A good eye for detail, and ability to carry out accurate and precise work under pressure and time constraints.
- An ability to work on his or her own initiative, as part of a team and be proactive in their role.
- Have a flexible approach to his or her work and responsibilities.
- Some experience working in a regulatory, legal or other professional environment.
