Job Description

As part of its evolving strategy, the organisation is seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Financial Controller to lead and modernise the finance function. Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of month-end closing, including preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
- Oversee and automate the billing process to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes.
- Work closely with external auditors, providing required documentation and explanations.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
- Regularly review cash flow reports and ensure accurate forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA).
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within a sporting organisation or a complex multi-entity business.
- Strong technical accounting skills and experience with month-end closing.
- Hands-on experience with automating billing and financial processes.
- Excellent knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach and lead by example.
