Butler Rose are partnering with a large, high performing Manchester based business to appoint a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the internal finance function. This is a rare opportunity to join a respected organisation during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will oversee and develop the entire finance operation, ensuring robust financial controls, smooth month end processes, and insightful reporting that drives commercial decision making. You'll lead a committed finance team, embedding excellence and continuous improvement at every level.

You will play a pivotal role in:

• Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance.
• Managing the full internal finance operation, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Enhancing financial processes, controls and systems.
• Providing accurate, timely financial reporting to senior leadership.
• Supporting strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to the business, offering clear commercial insight.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Experience leading finance teams, ideally within accountancy practice (audit/outsourced finance) or within a legal services environment.
• A strong technical accounting background with proven operational leadership.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Drive, resilience and a passion for developing people and improving processes.
• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
