About our client
Our client is a social enterprise developing inclusive digital ecosystems for rural communities in low-income countries. Their mission: to provide social and financial inclusion for the 85% who lack access to traditional microfinance. Here's how it works: They organize groups of 50 farming households and provide them with a tablet and access to a Digital Community Platform. Through this platform, users receive:
- Agricultural support (weather forecasts, best practices, fertilizer advice, local pricing)
- Health education and access to services
- Financial literacy and coaching through local "finance coaches"
- Market access via an online marketplace that connects producers and buyers, including multinationals, SMEs, and aid organizations
- Access to credit: thanks to reliable data, financial institutions are willing to offer loans at lower risk
What's the result?
Families grow more crops, save money, access healthcare, connect with markets, and gain new independence. This isn't theoretical-it's already happening in countries like Burundi, Uganda, and Burkina Faso, with over 4 million users.
Their sustainable model is initially supported by donor funding, making it free for users at first. Over time, users pay a small subscription, and the organization earns a margin on transactions through the marketplace-creating a self-sustaining cycle. They partner with the World Food Programme, Dutch development institutions, and private-sector organizations to scale their work.
Why join?
Because you'll be working at the intersection of tech, inclusion, and impact. Because you'll have room to grow. And because the work matters-every single day.
Offered by our client:
- Impact: Your work and insights directly help expand operations and improve lives
