Job Description
The Opportunity

You will play a key role in ensuring the charity's financial sustainability, transparency, and compliance. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll lead a small team in delivering accurate financial reporting, effective controls, and insightful analysis that supports strategic decision-making. This role offers the chance to apply your technical expertise and leadership skills within an organisation driven by purpose and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and year-end audit processes.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including payroll, accounting, and financial controls.
  • Manage statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiary in accordance with OSCR and SORP standards.
  • Provide strategic financial insight to the senior leadership team and trustees.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice financial governance.
  • Oversee the financial management of grants and funding streams.
  • Identify and manage financial risk, supporting ethical and sustainable financial practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and improvement.
What You'll Bring
  • Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven senior-level finance experience, within the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, FRS 102, and charity SORP is desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Experience managing audits and external reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
  • A values-driven approach and commitment to ethical practice.
