Central London Railway Infrastructure Sector

An established and highly regarded organisation within the railway infrastructure sector is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join its Financial Control team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained ACA/ACCA who has since moved into industry as a Financial Accountant or Finance Manager and is now looking for a broader, more commercially exposed role within a complex, regulated environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring robust financial control, technical compliance, and high-quality reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ownership of fixed asset accounting and reconciliations

• Lead on IFRS 16 lease accounting

• Preparation and management of statutory accounts, including change control

• Driving high-quality and timely balance sheet reconciliations

• Supporting external and internal audits

• Providing guidance on accounting standards, company law and HMRC regulations

• Supporting tax computation preparation

• Partnering with wider finance and operational teams to mitigate risk and improve processes

This role offers real breadth - combining technical accounting with business interaction and process improvement.

We are looking for:

• ACA or ACCA qualified (practice-trained)

• Currently in industry in a Financial Accountant or Finance Manager role

• Strong grounding in technical accounting and financial control

• Commercially astute - able to understand the "why" behind the numbers

• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills

• A proactive problem solver who enjoys improving processes

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Exposure to a complex, regulated infrastructure environment

• High visibility within a collaborative finance function
