Finance Officer (Volunteer)

Here at Youth4Youth, we have built a strong, tight-knit community of individuals passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers contributes significantly to our impact as a charity, regardless of the department they work in or the level of time they can commit.

Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people across the UK, enabling them to access a peer mentor of a similar age with whom they feel comfortable speaking.

If successful, you will join a diverse, likeminded team, collaborating to expand the charity's reach and improve support for young people. All our volunteers and employees are remote workers, but we maintain a strong, positive culture through regular communication.

About the role

The Finance Officer plays a vital role within Youth4Youth, working closely with the leadership team to ensure compliance with financial policies and budgets. They will also support the charity in demonstrating its impact by developing monthly KPI reports for internal distribution.

Responsibilities

• Report to the CEO and collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure compliance with financial policies and proper recording of all transactions.
• Support the annual budgeting process and provide regular updates on budget progress to the Leadership Team.
• Work with the Fundraising Team to develop fundraising bids and ensure plans are in place to meet income targets.
• Develop and compile monthly KPI reports to demonstrate impact and performance to the Leadership Team.

Skills

• Basic understanding of business finances; formal qualifications are not required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills at a senior level with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in IT, including experience with financial systems like Xero.
