Finance Officer - South eastern Health and Social Care Trust Newtownards

The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust is seeking a Finance Officer to assist with the administration of an effective and efficient financial services function to include General Ledger, FPM Systems Administration, Eproc Systems Administration and the management of the systems and staff within the department.

About the role:

  • £14.06 per hour
  • Monday to Friday
  • 37.5 hours a week
  • Location: Ards Community Hospital, Newtownards
  • Temporary, 01/09/2026 - 31/12/2026

What you'll be doing in this role:

  • Be responsible for the day to day operation of the General Ledger, FPM Systems Administration, Eproc Systems Administration, as delegated / assigned.
  • Supporting other Band 4's and providing cover as and when required.
  • Assist the Band 5 Finance Officer in contributing to improving the overall financial governance within the organisation.
  • The post holder will be fully supported by the Band 5 Finance Officer but will work largely on own initiative on day to day operational issues.
  • Dealing with end users of various systems and their requests, queries and problems.
  • Liaison with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the HSC including staff, and other HSC Departments.
  • Assist with the completion of the Statutory Accounts.

What you'll need for this role:

  • HNC / HND finance related or equivalent AND 1 years suitable relevant financial experience in a Finance department
  • OR NVQ Level 3 AND 2 years suitable relevant financial experience in a finance department
  • OR 2 years suitable relevant financial experience in a finance department at Band 3 or equivalent
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, working with a range of stakeholders
  • Good IT skills in relation to MS Office (in particular Excel) and experience working with financial systems
  • Competent at Microsoft Excel, ability to manipulate large volumes of data, wide range of functions and then provide analysis on this data
  • Full current driving licence and access to a car
