Our Client In Kidlington, Oxfordshire is hiring a Finance Manager to oversee end-to-end finance operations, lead the Accounting team and ensure timely, accurate reporting-while supporting audits and continuous improvement.
What you ll be doing:- Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including monthly close routines and balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce accurate, timely monthly financial accounts and support the preparation of data for reporting
- Lead audit preparation, acting as the primary liaison with auditors and overseeing all audits
- Ensure statutory accounts comply with UK GAAP andamp; IFRS and finalise statutory accounts in line with regulatory requirements
- Prepare the deferred tax pack for Group accounting annually and corporation tax packs for tax advisors
- Ensure VAT returns/payments and other statutory reports (including ONS surveys) are delivered by specified deadlines
- Work with other departments on customs tariffs, import VAT and duty
- Maintain key finance records including the banking database and bank mandates, and Companies House data for annual returns/director appointments
- Manage and develop an Accounting department of four people, with a strong customer focus
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, cash collection and Accounts Payable activities, including payments
- Oversee payroll processing and associated reporting (sub-contracted to Airbus)
- Define and uphold financial controls, ensuring compliance and continuously improving financial systems, processes and procedures
- Liaise with IT on accounting software and financial system issues
- Support treasury and management reporting
- Essential: Detailed knowledge of SAP and FRS102
- Professional, trustworthy approach with the ability to define priorities and lead a team
- Strong communication skills across different audiences, with a positive, self-starter mindset
- Clear accountability for deadlines, accuracy and controls
- Appreciation for continuous improvement-turning findings into practical process upgrades
- Essential: Professional accountancy qualification such as ACA or ACCA
- Subject to National Security Vetting: candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance (typically requires living in the UK for the last five years)
- All successful applicants will also undergo a mandatory BPSS check
- Must meet Export Compliance Regulations and hold the current, legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship available)
