Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are working exclusively with a lovely charitable trust as it seeks to appoint a new Finance Manager on a permanent basis. Our unique client, steeped in rich heritage and natural beauty, comprises of residential tenancies, agricultural holdings and diversified commercial activities. It also provides grants supporting some 200 local charities annually.
Your new role
Reporting directly into the CEO, you will manage the day-to-day finance operations by preparing financial reports, analysing financial performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also act as a trusted partner to departments, offering key insight to drive performance.
Key duties:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports
- Process financial transactions including AP and AR, journal entries and expenses
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of budgets
- Perform bank reconciliations and cashflow management
- Process monthly payroll including submissions to HMRC and pension provider
- Generate and submit quarterly VAT reports
- Drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices and procedures
- Provide support and guidance to other team members on finance matters
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
- First time mover from practice or an experienced industry professional
- Technically sound with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and capable of building professional relationships with a wide range of contacts
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Proficient in cloud-based financial software (Xero, Dext, Excel and modelling)
