Job Description

Finance Manager (Logistics & Supply Chain) Chester £75,000 - £85,000, 25 days holiday, wide range of discounts and benefits FMCG and Retail


This is a brilliant opportunity to join a global business and an industry leader in the UK. The company operates in a rapidly growing industry and both manufactures and sells goods across a wide network of partners. The Role

  • Lead a small team, overseeing financial reporting for Supply Chain and Logistics operations.
  • Actively contribute to depot period reviews, challenging costs and driving productivity improvements.
  • Analyse weekly depot performance against budgets and flexed forecasts.
  • Conduct scenario planning to model the cost and service impact of operational changes.
  • Support the annual budgeting and half-yearly forecasting processes, working closely with depot and logistics teams.
  • Contribute to short, medium, and long-term cost forecasting, understanding the impact of trading conditions and operational performance.
  • Assist the Logistics leadership team with contract negotiations across the network.
  • Review and challenge commercial proposals, identifying risks and opportunities compared to budgeted expectations.


About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Previous experience managing a finance team is essential.
  • Industry experience within Distribution, Supply Chain, or Logistics is highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to question and challenge financial information confidently.
  • Proven experience presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel skills with a track record of analysing large datasets.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
